FAQ

Better coffee, anywhere. Here’s how.

Everything you need to know about brewing, freshness, travel, shipping, and hospitality with EYE Coffee.

How It Works

How does EYE Coffee work?

Each single-serve filter comes preloaded with roasted specialty coffee. Tear open the package, peel open the eyelid, place it over your mug, and pour hot water. Repeat the pour-over process three times.

Do I need any special equipment?

All you need is a mug and hot water. No machine, grinder, scale, or brewing setup required.

How much water should I use?

Use 8–10 ounces of hot water for a balanced cup.

The Coffee

What type of roast is it?

Our “One the Prize” blend is a medium roast.

Where is the coffee from?

Our current coffee blend features Colombia Huila Coocentral and Burundi Kayanza Busasa.

How much coffee is inside?

Each EYE Coffee filter contains 15 grams of roasted specialty coffee, designed to brew an 8–10 ounce cup.

What type of roaster do you use?

Our coffee is roasted on a Probat, a precision drum roaster known for consistency, control, and repeatable roast profiles.

Where is the coffee roasted?

EYE Coffee is roasted in Oakland with decades of roasting experience behind every batch.

Sustainability & Freshness

What is the packaging and filter made of?

The entire pour-over, from the outer wrapper to the lid and filter components, is paper-based. There’s no plastic.

Is EYE Coffee compostable?

Every component is compostable via industrial composting.

How does it stay fresh?

We nitro flush the coffee during packaging to help preserve freshness. It’s best consumed within 6 months of packaging.

Is this instant coffee?

No. EYE Coffee is real brewed coffee. The coffee grounds are inside the filter, and hot water passes through them like a pour-over.

Is this a coffee pod?

No. There is no plastic capsule, machine, or pod system required.

Travel & Everyday Use

Can I travel with EYE Coffee?

Yes — and you should. EYE Coffee is designed for hotels, planes, road trips, offices, camping, and anywhere a better cup is hard to find.

Why not just use hotel coffee?

If you’re reading this, it’s probably because you care about quality coffee and aren’t one to settle for freeze-dried instant, terrible pods, or whatever sad little packet happens to be sitting next to the hotel kettle.

Does it fit most mugs?

Yes. The filter is designed to sit on top of most standard mugs and cups.

Orders & Shipping

Where do you ship?

We currently ship within the United States.

How long does shipping take?

Most orders ship within a few business days. Delivery timing depends on your location and selected shipping method.

Hospitality & Wholesale

Do you work with hotels?

Yes. EYE Coffee is built for hospitality: premium in-room coffee without machines, maintenance, noise, or waste-heavy pod systems.
